Q: Who can join?
A: Any current or former K–12 teacher in the U.S. is welcome! (International teachers are also welcome — just provide your preferred donation platform.)
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Fill out our Teacher Sign-Up Form — include your name, grade/subject, city/state, photo, and your preferred donation or support link (like PayPal, Venmo, or a classroom fund).
Q: What if I made a mistake or need to update my info?
A: Just email us at support@tipmyteacher.com, and we’ll help update it.
✅ Can You Accept Support Gifts?
Q: Can teachers legally accept support gifts? Could this violate any school policies?
A: Support gifts on TipMyTeacher.com are voluntary contributions from individuals who want to say thank you. You can choose any fund or donation link you prefer — whether it’s a personal account, a classroom fund, or a school-approved donation page.
However, school policies vary. Here’s how to stay in the clear:
✅ If you’re using a personal fund or account, avoid promoting it directly in your classroom or through official school email.
✅ If you choose to use a school-approved classroom fund or school donation link, always follow your district’s guidelines.
✅ Add a line to your profile: “This page is for supporters to show appreciation through a donation to the fund or account of my choice.”
✅ Keep contributions reasonable — most support gifts are small ($2–$20), but every act of support matters.
💵 Receiving Support
Q: How do I receive support gifts?
A: Supporters will click the “Support This Teacher” button on your profile, which links directly to your chosen donation platform.
Q: Do I get 100% of the gift?
A: Yes! You receive the full amount directly through your chosen donation or payment platform. Please note that some platforms (like PayPal, Venmo, etc.) may deduct standard processing fees — but TipMyTeacher.com does not take any cut.
Q: Will I get notified when someone supports me?
A: Not always automatically — we recommend asking supporters to let you know or send a screenshot.
Q: Can people support me more than once?
A: Yes! But only one support gift per person counts toward the year-end bonus raffle. They can also purchase additional bonus raffle tickets in your name.
📩 Reporting Support Gifts
If someone supports you directly (through your chosen donation or payment platform), we don’t automatically see it — so if you want it to count toward your supporter total (to help you win a bonus), you need to report it.
Please email us a screenshot or other valid proof of support showing:
The date
The supporter’s name (if possible)
A short message or note (if included)

Subject line: Support Gift Report – [Your Name]
We’ll verify and update your supporter count on the leaderboard within 48 hours.
✅ Only gifts from the current calendar year can be added.
⛔️ Gifts with no proof can’t be counted.
🎟️ Bonuses & Raffle Tickets
Q: What are bonus raffle tickets?
A: $5 tickets that supporters can buy to boost your chances at the year-end bonus. They include your name when purchasing.
Q: How do I know my stats?
A: We update the leaderboard regularly — feel free to reach out anytime for details.
Q: How are bonuses awarded?
A: In December, we award:
Top 3 teachers nationwide (by supporter count)
3 teachers chosen randomly from all entries
Q: Where does the bonus money come from?
A: 75% of platform revenue (raffle tickets, ads, etc.) funds the bonus pool.
📸 Profile Tips
Q: Do I need a profile photo?
A: Yes! It helps supporters recognize and trust you. A friendly, professional photo is best.
Q: Can I link social media?
A: Yes! Share your classroom page, Instagram, or other links to help supporters find and connect with you.
🎟️ Bonus Raffle Ticket Details
Q: How do supporters make sure their bonus raffle ticket counts?
A: When purchasing, they must include:
Your full name
The number of tickets
Example:
Ms. Harper — 3 tickets
⚠️ If no teacher name is listed, we can’t apply the tickets — so please make sure they include it!
